Right in the middle of the 2017/2018 wedding season we are surrounded by beautiful big florals everywhere we look (including the Khayaam window, created by yours truly)

Recent wedding trends have moved toward less formal arrangements with larger bouquets filled with less traditional flowers such as natives with waratahs, proteas and natural foliage like gum. These are often incorporated with pretty cottage flowers like dahlias, soft open roses and a resurgence of baby’s breath. We are even seeing the inclusion of succulents in bouquets and floral wedding decor in an array of colours and sizes.

Tamika Scott – Owner & operator of Hey Blossom has been in the floristry industry since 2007. Originally from country Victoria, she trained at Marjorie Milner college in Melbourne and received certificate II & III in floristry, working at local florist Jen’s flowers Sale for 5 years. After a sea change and to Port Douglas. Tamika and sister Candace bought a gorgeous florist called Floral Edge and specialized in weddings for about 5 years but has now decided to come back to where it all began and spread her flower love in Victoria … once again  “In my ten plus years in the industry I have had some amazing opportunities, winning a string of awards. Getting sent to Paris for some training when I was 19.  Competing for Australia in floristry when I was 20 years old in London. Co owning a very successful florist in Port Douglas, getting to do the most beautiful destination weddings and events. Flowers are my passion, they are all I know. I love how happy they make people ” × Hey Blossom × What we do  Weekly fresh flowers Weddings  Workshops Events  Pop up shops  Markets  Demonstrator
